Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Outlet Pricer. If yours isn't here, email support and you'll hear back within one business day.

Pricing and plans

Can I switch plans later?

Yes. Upgrade or downgrade from Settings → Billing at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately with a prorated charge for the current billing period. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal.

What happens if I go over my station count?

Stations are enforced at login: the next person trying to log in past your limit sees a message that all stations are in use. Existing sessions aren't interrupted. If you hit the limit regularly, move up a plan or close sessions nobody is using.

Do you charge per user?

No. Users are unlimited on every plan. Pricing is based on how many people can be logged in at once, not on how many people you employ. A store with 20 processors working in shifts of 3 needs 3 stations, not 20.

Is there a free trial?

Self-Service includes a 7-day free trial. Managed includes a 14-day money-back guarantee on your first payment: if it isn't a fit, email support within 14 days and we refund it.

How does AI Retail Research billing work?

It's a flat $49 a month on top of your base plan, whatever your usage, with a cap of 50 lookups a day. Turn it on or off at any time from Settings → Billing.

Setup and onboarding

How long does setup take?

Most owners run their first shift within 15 minutes: apply the discount template, invite the team, do a practice scan. Managed plans include a guided setup session with someone from Outlet Pricer.

Can I import my existing product catalog?

Yes. Managed plans include catalog import as part of implementation. On Self-Service, ask support and we'll quote a one-time fee before any work starts.

Do I need special hardware?

Any standard USB barcode scanner works. Most stores use handheld scanners, some use mounted station scanners. If your scanner already works with your POS, it will work with Outlet Pricer.

Do you support mobile scanning?

Not today. Outlet Pricer is built for dedicated workstations. Mobile scanning is on the roadmap but isn't a supported use case yet.

Data and integrations

Where is my data stored?

In Supabase's US infrastructure, with continuous backups. Our Privacy Policy has the details.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Export your product catalog and pricing history from Settings → Data Export at any time. Exports are CSV and arrive by email within a few minutes.

Do you integrate with POS systems?

On Managed plans we build a connector for your point-of-sale system during onboarding. No connector is prebuilt: each one is implementation work scoped against what your particular POS allows. Self-Service plans can export pricing to CSV and import it into your POS manually.

Does my data belong to me?

Yes. You own your catalog, your pricing history, and everything you enter. If you cancel, export it all before your account closes. We don't share or sell customer data.

Support and troubleshooting

A scan didn't return the right price. What happened?

Check three things. First, the product's category: a wrong category means the wrong discount. Second, the reference retail: if it's stale, the price is calculated from an outdated number. Third, recent rule changes: a new rule applies to future scans, not to prices already set. If it still looks wrong, email support with the barcode and we'll investigate.

The workstation feels slow.

Scans should return a price in under a second. If they're slower, check your internet connection first, since Outlet Pricer needs an active one. If the connection is fine and scans are still slow, email support. We monitor performance and want to know.

Two processors priced the same SKU differently.

One of them likely overrode the calculated price. Your discount rules produce the same price for the same SKU no matter who scans it, so check the override log, which records who set a price and when. That's the difference between a rule problem and a judgment call.

I forgot my password.

Reset it from the login page: click Forgot password and enter your email, and you'll get a reset link. An owner who has lost access to their email should contact support with proof of ownership.

How do I cancel?

Self-Service plans cancel from Settings → Billing. On Managed, email support and we'll take care of it. Either way cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you've already paid for, and you keep access until then. There's no cancellation fee and no notice period.
